What are consumer groups?
Consumer groups control what users see, what tasks they can participate in and which messages they receive
As the name suggests, they are groups of users that are connected by certain criteria, any criteria can be used from the most specific to the most generic. Everything task or project in the platform is controlled by consumer groups. They control:
- Which users see which tasks and areas of the platform
- Which users receive which messages, invites and reminders
- What your clients/stakeholders see and don’t see
There can be an unlimited number of consumer groups and one user can be a member of any number of consumer groups.
All tools are set to consumer groups which enables different tasks to be set to different groups. You can also assign multiple consumer groups to each task that you publish.
By default, the platform automatically has a consumer group created for all users within the main site, additional groups are created via the Select Sample page.
