Piping in SurveyMR 2.0

Piping allows you to pull through data into your question text based on a participant’s previous answers given in your survey or their existing custom user field data in the database (providing that this has a pre-selected list)

How do I pipe answers?

• Piping options can be applied within the question text itself.
• To pipe from a previous question or sub question, start by typing the # symbol.
• To pipe from a custom user field, start by typing the @ symbol.
• Following this you will be promoted to select an option from the drop-down list.

Please note: when using the custom user field piping, it’s important to note that if a respondent does not have any data populated for that custom user field, the field will appear as blank within the survey. With this in mind, when using custom user field piping it’s a good idea to check what data is populated within that custom user field.
