Using the ‘Responses’ tab to manage responses in SurveyMR 2.0

The ‘Responses’ tab allows you to monitor progress. It allows you to include or exclude responses, so that they are not included in any subsequent survey downloads or analyses. You can apply various filters and search for individual responses.

To use the responses tab -

•    Open SurveyMR 2.0
•    Find the live survey you wish to manage
•    Open the survey, and find the tab titled ‘Responses’

Within this tab, you will see the below filter options, located down the left side.

Personal Field – This will allow you to search for specific responses, by email address, User ID, or screen name.
Incompletes – This will allow you to filter a list of people who have/have not hit a complete node, and to either include or exclude them from your responses.
Speeders – This will allow you to filter a list of people who completed the survey quicker than either 25% or 45% of the median response time.
User Type – This will allow you to filter between internal and external responses, i.e. responses that come from panel members, vs responses that come from external samples, or open link anonymous responses.
Verbatim Quality – A new feature! This allows you to scrutinise open text and PromptAI survey responses using our AI quality check. More information available below!*

Once you have filtered the responses, you can then use the ‘Select all’ or

‘Unselect All’ buttons on the left of the image below, along with the ‘Include responses’ or ‘Exclude responses’ buttons to the right, to select and remove survey responses.

You can also manually select and remove individual responses, using the tick box beside each response.

*SurveyMR AI Quality Check tool

We have now added the ability to scrutinise survey responses using our AI quality check tool. This is available for the following question types:

  • Text – used to collect verbatim responses
  • PromptAI – used to generate smart probes, creating more depth in responses

The survey AI quality check tool calculates the likelihood that a verbatim response is of poor quality and scores the response accordingly. To use the tool:

  1. Go to Back Room > Research Tools > SurveyMR 2.0
  2. Click into the survey you’d like to check responses for
  3. Click the ‘Response data’ tab
  4. From the left-hand menu, select the ‘Verbatim Quality’ filter. This will add a drop-down option to the page:

  5. You can then filter from the highest quality responses (better than 0.25) to the lowest quality responses (worse than 0.75).

  6. Filter out the lowest quality responses to improve your verbatim quality, by selecting all low-quality responses and excluding those from your response data.

Excluding responses ensures that any CSV export files you download for the survey will only contain the responses you have chosen to keep. Equally, any TextMR analyses will only show these richer, valuable responses.
